Tom Spell is a straightforward man of average height and otherwise unremarkable stature. He's quite a bit tougher than he looks, as well as gifted with remarkable manual dexterity. Can be loud.
Tom was born the son of a barber in a smaller town in New York state. While he apprenticed in the family business for a few years, he was unsatisfied and decided to try a wide range of jobs, eventually becoming a police officer in NYC.
After several years as a cop he and some of his colleagues formed a small detective agency, garnering an impressive reputation for finding answers and accurate, lengthy confessions.
On a Friday he received an invitation for employment at some federal office in Chicago. He took the job.
